Any type of call transfer to voice mailbox service has been enabled for the user. For details, see Configuring Call Transfer to Voice Mailbox.
When editing the custom switchboard script (for details, see Configuring Customized Automatic Switchboard Menus and Time Segment Policies), configure the policy for transferring calls to the voice mailbox in IVR menus as required.
ϒ⁄Configuring call transfer to voice mailbox with a button press
This topic assumes that you want to configure 1 as the button for transferring calls to the voice mailbox corresponding to number 8010. The following figure shows the configuration.
ϒ⁄Configuring call transfer to voice mailbox upon timeout
The following assumes that you want to transfer calls to the voice mailbox corresponding to number 8100 upon timeout. The following figure shows the configuration.
ϒ⁄Configuring call transfer to voice mailbox upon failures
The following assumes that you want to transfer calls to the voice mailbox corresponding to number 8999 when call transfer failures occur (such as when the called number does not exist or the calling used line is faulty). The following figure shows the configuration. Generally, the target voice mailbox is not specified during the configuration of call transfer to voice mailbox upon failures.
ϒ⁄If not specified during the configuration of call transfer to voice mailbox with a button press or upon timeout, the target voice mailbox will be specified using the secondary digit collection. If the target voice mailbox is not specified during the configuration of call transfer to voice mailbox upon failures, incoming calls are automatically forwarded to the called party's voice mailbox.
ϒ⁄The target voice mailbox, if specified in the automatic switchboard script, is generally a public voice mailbox used by multiple users. To avoid personal information leakage when calling parties mistakenly consider that their calls are transferred to a personal mailbox, it is recommended that the greetings be customized for each public voice mailbox, telling calling parties that the voice mailbox is a public one. For details, see Customized Greetings.
ϒ⁄You are advised to set the maximum number of voice messages in a public voice mailbox to 50, which meets most users' requirements. For details, see Adjusting the voice mailbox capacity and maximum voice message duration for some users.
