Failure to Record a Voice Message

[Symptom]

When you access the VMS, the system plays an announcement asking you to leave a voice message after hearing the beep tone. After hearing the beep tone, you hear announcement indicating the voice message recording failure.

[Possible Cause]

ϒ⁄Cause 1: The value of Number of VMS Channels for the MTU board is not configured.

ϒ⁄Cause 2: The called party's voice mailbox is full.

ϒ⁄Cause 3: The SD card is full.

ϒ⁄Case4:Cause 4: No SD card is installed on the MTU board.

[Solution]

ϒ⁄For cause 1: Change the value of Number of VMS Channels for the MTU board.

1.Log in to the web management system of the Unified Gateway X1900 series as the administrator.

2.Choose System > License Information and check the value of Voice Mail nums in License Current Config information area.

3.Choose System > Board Configuration, right-click the MTU board, and set the value of Number of VMS Channels to the value of Voice Mail nums.

ϒ⁄For cause 2: Check whether the called party's voice mailbox is full.

1.Log in to the web management system of the Unified Gateway X1900 series as the administrator.

2.Choose User > VMS Statistics and check the VMS capacity of the called party.

3.Notify the called party of dialing the VMS unified access prefix to delete voice messages. If necessary, the VMC capacity can be expanded for the called party. For details, see Adjusting the voice mailbox capacity and maximum voice message duration for some users.

For example, user A calls user B, and user A leaves a message to user B. If user B's voice mailbox is full, user A will be notified that the voice mailbox is full and user A cannot leave a message. When listening to a message, user B is notified that the mailbox is full.

ϒ⁄For cause 3: The system administrator can only back up and delete all messages in the SD card (not recommended), so users must clear their own read messages to ensure proper service running. If such a fault occurs, the system administrator needs to check and reduce allocated VMS storage resources to prevent such faults.

ϒ⁄For cause 4: Add an SD card on the current MTU board or use an MTU board with an SD card installed.
