A higher-level user can preempt resource of a lower-level user when trunk link resources are insufficient, without any configurations.

This topic describes how to reserve trunk line resources for higher-level users and how to modify the prompt tone played to users when their resources are preempted.

Reserving Trunk Line Resources

1.Log in to a X1900 series unified gateway using the CLI and access the Config mode.

2.Configure the reserved circuit.

config add reservedcircuit officeno officeno protocol protocol number number priority priority

Parameter

Description

officeno

Indicates the office route of a trunk line.

protocol

Indicates the trunk type of reserved trunk line resources. The options are as follows:

ϒ⁄pra

ϒ⁄cassignal

ϒ⁄qsig

ϒ⁄isup

ϒ⁄bri

ϒ⁄sip

number

Indicates the number of reserved circuits.

priority

Indicates the lowest right level of the user who can use the reserved circuits. The options are as follows:

ϒ⁄default

ϒ⁄normal

ϒ⁄advanced

ϒ⁄super

3.Run the save command to save the configuration.

Configuring the Prompt Tone Played to Users When Their Resources Are Preempted

1.Log in to a X1900 series unified gateway using the CLI and access the Config mode.

2.Set a prompt tone that the X1900 unified gateway plays when the trunk used by a user is preempted.

config modify hint tone cause reaviedbysuperuser type type

Description

type

Indicates the prompt tone type. The options are as follows:

ϒ⁄busytone (default)

ϒ⁄specialtone: The announcement indicating that the system is busy is played.

3.Run the save command to save the configuration.
