Enterprise users at the headquarters and branches register with the respective local node. All these local nodes connect to the convergent node using SIP trunks to implement inter-node voice communication.

Network Scheme

Figure 1 illustrates the multi-node convergent network.

Network Description

ϒ⁄The unified gateways deployed at the headquarters and branches are local nodes, which can be  UScale X1911, X1960,  X1981.

ϒ⁄IP phones, POTS phones, and fax machines all register with their local node. Each local node can connect to the PSTN using trunks such as PRA, SS7, QSIG, R2, and AT0 for local outgoing calls.

ϒ⁄The convergent gateway connects to each local node using a SIP trunk to provide call routing between local nodes. The convergent gateway can be  UScale U1980, X1981 or USM. When the user capacity reaches 50,000 or above.

Inter-Office Call Routing

To implement inter-node voice communication, configure required parameters at each local node and the convergent node. Specifically, at each local node, configure office routes, outgoing prefixes, and SIP trunks to the convergent node; at the convergent node, also configure these parameters to each local node.

ϒ⁄When user 01080001 dials 05718004, local node 1 analyzes the number and according to the analysis result (0571 is the call prefix to the convergent node), routes the call to the convergent node. The convergent node analyzes the number and according to the analysis result (0571 is the call prefix to local node 4), routes the call to local node 4. Then, local node 4 connects the call to user 05718004, as indicated by cmsg_u1900_images_f_ipt_cmsg_00045_03 in Figure 2.

ϒ⁄When user 01080001 dials 0256003, local node 1 analyzes the number and according to the analysis result (025 is the call prefix to the convergent node), routes the call to the convergent node. The convergent node analyzes the number and according to the analysis result (025 is the call prefix to local node 3), routes the call to local node 3. Then, local node 3 connects the call to user 0256003, as indicated by cmsg_u1900_images_f_ipt_cmsg_00045_04 in Figure 2.
