unified communications

A service that is not limited by the device and network-centered communication method (for example, email, instant short message, telephone, and multimedia conference) and uses advanced technologies to enable users to communicate with their colleagues, customers, and cooperation partners conveniently and effectively by using the common communication tools and applications.

Unified Message System

A system that stores and manages messages from different sources, such as voice messages and fax messages, in a unified manner. The user can send and receive messages with any type of communications device, such as a phone, a fax machine, a mobile phone, or a PC anytime at any place.

Universal Serial Bus

A serial bus standard to interface devices. It was designed for computers such as PCs and the Apple Macintosh, but its popularity has prompted it to also become commonplace on video game consoles and PDAs.

USB

User Agent

Any software or device that interprets resources. This may include textual browsers, voice browsers, search engines, etc.
