Fault Handling Principles and Process

This topic describes the principles and process of handling emergency faults.

Follow the principles below when handling an emergency fault:

ϒ⁄Restore services within a shortest-possible duration to minimize the fault impact.

The primary task is to restore the affected system functions.

ϒ⁄Collect in time the information required for locating a fault.

All necessary information must be collected and saved for subsequent fault analysis after the system recovery.

Based on the preceding principles, perform service restoration operations based on the following priority in descending order:

ϒ⁄Operations that are less time-consuming and have a higher probability of restoring services

ϒ⁄Operations that are less time-consuming and have a lower probability of restoring services

ϒ⁄Operations that are more time-consuming and have a higher probability of restoring services

Figure 1 illustrates the process of quickly handling an emergency fault for service restoration.
