This topic describes how to quickly respond to toll fraud.

Take the following actions in the case of toll fraud to avoid economic losses:

1.Disconnect the unified gateway from the external network. Specifically, disable the SIP access policy on the firewall or disconnect the SBC network.

Before disconnecting the SBC network, query the registration information on the SBC and save screenshots of the external IP addresses registered. Restore the SBC network after toll fraud prevention measures are taken.

2.Disconnect the trunk between the unified gateway and PSTN.

ϒ⁄For E1/T1, AT0, and BRI lines, disconnect the physical link, that is, manually remove the cable.

Disconnection of narrowband or analog trunk lines will disable all outgoing PSTN calls. It also leads to outgoing call failures within about 3 minutes.

ϒ⁄For SIP trunks, restart the unified gateway.

Restarting the unified gateway will interrupt services for about 5 minutes.

3.Ask the carrier to disable the international toll call rights on the trunk lines and check and disconnect all ongoing international toll calls.

After toll fraud prevention measures are taken, ask the carrier to enable the international toll call rights on the trunk lines and provide all dialing modes that will be regarded as international toll calls.
