PEER-PEER GATEWAY SCENARIO

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 786 views

1.Extending analog lines using FXS & FXS SIP server

This scenario allows an organization to communicate with a another organization through IP network.

In this diagram, FXS gateway A will assign extensions 8001-8008 to 8 analog phones. FXS gateway B will assign extensions 7001-7006 to 6 analog phones. All analog phones can communicate with each other via extension numbers.

2.Extending analog lines using FXS & FXO sip servers

This scenario allows an organization who only has FXS ports to access the FXO ports through the IP network.

In this diagram, FXS gateway A will assign extensions 8001-8008 to 8 analog phones. FXO gateway B has PSTN lines. With the help of ip infrastructure and FXS A and FXO B, analog phones 8001-8008 connected in FXS A are able to make, as well as receive calls from FXO B.

Test

– Once setup is complete, please verify as follows.

– FXS A extensions dialing each other

For example, if an analog phone on FXS-1 dials 8002, the analog phone on FXS-2 will ring

– FXS B extensions dialing each other

For example, if an analog phone on FXS-1 dials 7002, the analog phone on FXS-2 will ring

– FXS A and FXS B dial each other’s extensions

For example, if the analog phone on FXS-1 of device A dials 7001, the analog phone on FXS-1 of device B will ring

– FXS A and FXO B dial each other’s extensions

For example, if a cell phone number is 12345, the analog phone on FXS-2 of device A  dial 712345, and the cell phone will ring; if the cell phone dials the analog outside number (070512345) on device B, the analog phone on FXS-2 of device A will ring.
