Mail server

The mail server is a server that can receive and send mails. In the report system, the mail server can forward reports to the external mail boxes of users.

mains supply

The commercial power supply of a nation. In China, the nominal voltage of the mains supply is 220 V AC and the frequency is 50 Hz.

major alarm

An alarm severity that indicates some kind of possibly service-affecting problem with the resource. The severity of the problem is relatively high and normal use of the resource is likely to be impaired.

MAS

master control architecture

A design that allows the main control board to control all the other interface boards and resource boards.

Media Gateway

A logical entity that converts the format of the media of a network to meet the format requirement of another network. It can process audio services, video services and data services, and convert the media format in full duplex mode. In addition, it can play certain audio and video signals, and provide the IVR function and media conference.

Media Gateway Controller

The Media Gateway Controller (MGC), also known as Call Agents or Soft Switches, handles registration, management, and control functionality of resources in the Media Gateway (MG).

Media Resource Server

A server that processes media streams in basic and enhanced services, including service announcement provision, conference, notification, and advanced voice services.

message indicator

An indicator light that indicates a new message to a UMS user on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phone.

minor alarm

An alarm severity that indicates a problem of relatively low severity that should not impede use of the resource.

Mobile Agent Server

The MAS is connected to the IAGW to send SMs to mobile phones. The MAS is used in enterprise-constructing mode. It is deployed by an enterprise for private use.

multi-number service

A service that allows a registered user to have multiple phone numbers, a primary phone number and one or more secondary phone numbers. You can connect the user by dialing either the primary phone number or the secondary phone numbers. A primary phone number can correspond to multiple secondary phone numbers whereas a secondary phone number can correspond to a single primary phone number.

multimedia video conference

A conference that integrates audio and video and is typically attended by three parties.
