Restarting the System

This topic describes how to restart the unified gateway system.

Preparations

ϒ⁄Use the save command to save the current configuration and service data to the flash Memory.

ϒ⁄Choose BillConsole > Control bill transfer on the bill server. Ensure that the bill transfer status is Stop.

Methods

ϒ⁄Restarting the unified gateway system by running the reboot command

You can restart the system by running the reboot command in the following conditions:

§For rectifying a system fault

§For making the restored data take effect

ϒ⁄Restarting the unified gateway system using the web management system

§Log in to the web management system.

§Choose System Configuration > Device Management.

§Click Reboot next to System Reboot.

§Click OK to restart the unified gateway system.

ϒ⁄Restarting the unified gateway system by power cycling

If the system fault is severe, you can restart the system by power cycling (that is, powering it off and re-powering it on).

§Turn the power switch on the back panel of the unified gateway shelf to the OFF position.

§Ensure that the power cable is connected properly to the mains supply socket. Then, provide alternating current (AC) power or direct current (DC) power for the unified gateway.

§Turn the power switch on the back panel of the unified gateway shelf to the ON position.

Verify that the POWER indicator on the board panel is on.
